Hi ! I’m Earl.

Seven years ago, I started my French language journey at Alliance Française in New York. The main reason for this choice was my strong passion for traveling to France and fully immersing myself in the culture during my vacations. Learning the language was lots of fun, and I've been attending classes at least once a week, except for a year-long break in 2020 due to the unfortunate circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A few years ago, I started kicking around the idea of moving to France one day, but it was always just a far off dream. However, in November 2023, I was laid off from my job of 18 years in New York. After a little thought, I realized that there was no better time to just go for it. So, I've started preparing to move to the beautiful city of Montpellier in April 2024.

I'm starting this blog in January to share the process of this exciting transition and give you glimpses of my new life in France.
